onica Kaufman Pearson

In 1975, Monica Kaufman Pearson made history as Atlanta's first woman and first minority to anchor the 6 p.m. news on Atlanta's prestigious ABC affiliate WSB-TV, breaking barriers in broadcast  journalism.  Despite facing resistance, she remained a trailblazer, delivering trusted news to millions.

For 37 years, Monica was the face of WSB-TV, becoming a household name and an inspiration for generations.  Beyond journalism, she continues to shatter ceilings, becoming the first African American and second woman to chair the United Way of  Greater Atlanta's Board of Directors.

On April 13, 1966, Monica joined Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, via  the Beta Epsilon Chapter at the University of  Louisville.
